Jammu Kashmir Police Chief Dilbagh Singh Thursday said that the final decision regarding the holding of Eid prayers at Eidgah Srinagar will be taken by the Divisional Administration.
Singh was talking to reporters in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on the sidelines of a function.
DGP maintained that besides Srinagar, there is peace across Kashmir and nowhere there is any law and order problem. “In coming days, Divisional Administration will take a final call to decide about holding of Eid prayers at Eidgah Srinagar,” he said.
The Director General of Police as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust talked about militancy, drones, and the drug menace in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said militancy is on the verge of ending though it has not been over yet. Youth have understood the consequences of militancy and realized that it only leads to destruction. There are many options available for the youth to build their careers.
Singh said Pakistan has been smuggling drugs and arms through drones. “We have seized various consignments of drugs and weapons. To counter these drones, we have a lot of options available and we are alert and always ready to foil any attempt to disturb the peace in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said adding that drug peddlers and addicts are on police radar and action is being initiated against them.
