Jammu, Oct 23, KNT: An accident occurred on Sidhra Bridge in Jammu late Tuesday night, claiming the lives of two young persons in their 20’s including a girl. The duo was riding a blue motorcycle (JK11H-2944) from Nagrota to Bhatandi when their bike skidded off the road on the Sidhra Bridge.
A speeding truck (UP70GT-5324) failed to stop in time, crushing the riders beneath its wheels. Both Towheed Wani from Rajouri and the girl succumbed to their injuries on the spot.

The truck driver, panicked by the accident, abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene.

According to police officials, Towheed Wani was preparing for the NEET examination for admission to undergraduate MBBS courses. The girl is from Doda.
The Sidhra Police Station has taken custody of the truck and motorcycle. Police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the truck driver. “We are investigating the accident and will take necessary action against the truck driver,” said a senior police official. [KNT]
