Entrepreneurs Seek CM Omar Abdullah’s Intervention Over Prolonged Land Possession Delay at Pampore Industrial Estate

Srinagar, June 13, KNT: More than a hundred entrepreneurs, awaiting land possession at the Industrial Estate Pampore (Brick and Tile Factory), have made a fervent appeal to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his Advisor, Nasir Aslam Wani, to intervene in resolving a prolonged bureaucratic impasse that has stalled industrial development for over four years.

Despite having fulfilled all formalities—ranging from full payments to lease deed execution—the entrepreneurs allege that they have been denied physical possession of their allotted plots due to lingering internal departmental disputes. This delay, they warn, is threatening to derail significant private investment and job creation in the region.

The delegation, led by Khalid Subhan Wani, President of Industrial Estate Pampore, along with core members of the estate’s business community, submitted a formal representation urging the Chief Minister to personally look into the matter and bring an end to the administrative stalemate.

“This is not just about plots—it’s about livelihoods, about the industrial future of Pampore,” Wani said. “Crores of rupees in planned investment are lying in limbo simply because access to our own allotted land has been denied. The delay is unjustified and demoralizing for the entire entrepreneurial community.”

The entrepreneurs argue that they have met every obligation required by the department and still continue to face an unexplained wait. They stress that if the deadlock is not broken soon, it could lead to serious financial losses and thwart the broader goal of local economic revival through industrialization.

Their plea highlights the urgent need for responsive governance, especially in matters where private enterprise is willing and prepared to contribute to the economic growth of Jammu and Kashmir. The group believes that timely intervention by the Chief Minister can not only resolve the issue but also restore faith in the government’s commitment to ease of doing business.

With Pampore’s industrial potential hanging in the balance, the entrepreneurs have pinned their hopes on swift action to unlock stalled growth, create local employment, and catalyze a long-overdue industrial breakthrough in South Kashmir. [KNT]
