Govt Attaches Chief Education Officer Baramulla, Bandipora Officer Given Additional Charge

 

Srinagar, Oct 6, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday attached the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Baramulla, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Shah, with the Directorate of School Education Kashmir, pending an inquiry into undisclosed matters.

According to the Government Order No. 620-JK (Edu) of 2025 issued by the School Education Department, Mr. Shah has been relieved of his duties in Baramulla and directed to report to the Directorate of School Education, Kashmir, with immediate effect.

The order further states that the Chief Education Officer, Bandipora, shall hold the additional charge of the post of CEO Baramulla as well as the Principal of DIET Sopore, Baramulla, till further orders.

The inquiry into the matter has been entrusted to the Joint Director Education (North) Kashmir, who has been directed to submit a detailed report to the Administrative Department within 15 days.

The order, signed by Secretary to the Government Ram Niwas Sharma (IAS) and countersigned by Deputy Secretary Sheetal Pandita (JKAS), has been issued with immediate effect. Copies of the directive have also been forwarded to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Director School Education Kashmir, and other concerned officials for compliance. [KNT]
