No Beneficiary Received Free Gas Cylinder in J&K, Confirms Government

Srinagar, Oct 31, KNT: In a written reply to a question raised by MLA Pulwama, the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department has confirmed that no beneficiary in Jammu and Kashmir has received any free gas cylinder during the said period, despite earlier assurances made in the Budget announcements.

According to the official response signed by the Minister-in-Charge, “No free gas cylinder has been issued to any beneficiary in Jammu and Kashmir during the said period.” The clarification was tabled in the Assembly, effectively confirming that not a single district in the Union Territory has seen implementation of the promised scheme.

Reacting to the revelation, PDP legislator Wahid Parra said the government had promised free gas cylinders as part of its welfare commitments but had failed to deliver. “Zero beneficiaries of free gas cylinders in Jammu and Kashmir till now, despite the Budget promise. This is another reflection of hollow assurances and poor execution,” Parra remarked.
