Teen electrocuted atop train at Budgam railway station succumbs to injuries

Srinagar, Jan 26, KNT: The 16-year-old boy who was critically injured after suffering an electric shock while taking photographs atop a train at Budgam railway station recently has succumbed to his injuries at SMHS Hospital here on Monday, officials said.

The deceased has been identified as Reyan Ahamed, son of Shameem Ahmad Dar, a resident of Marajpora Batmaloo area of Srinagar. Hospital sources said the teenager was admitted in a critical condition following the incident but could not survive despite medical efforts.

The incident had occurred recently when Reyan Ahamed and another youth Arbaz Ahmad reportedly climbed atop a stationary train at the railway station Budgam and came into contact with an overhead electric line, resulting in severe electrocution injuries.
