Massive Fire Guts At Least Four Houses in Habba Kadal

Srinagar, Feb 10, KNT: At least four residential houses were gutted in a massive fire that broke out during late night hours in the Babapora area of Habba Kadal in Srinagar, officials and locals said.

The fire erupted in a residential cluster, prompting an immediate response from the Fire and Emergency Services. Multiple fire tenders were rushed to the spot to contain the blaze. However, the operation was hampered due to explosions of LPG cylinders inside the affected houses, which intensified the flames and made firefighting difficult.

Locals, police personnel and firefighters jointly worked through the night to prevent the fire from spreading further. Eyewitnesses said the narrow lanes of the locality and continuous flare ups posed serious challenges for rescue teams.

A neighbour of the affected families said the fire initially broke out in three houses before spreading to a fourth structure. By the time firefighting teams gained control, substantial damage had already been caused to the residential buildings and household property.
