Flood Control Department Removes Illegal Access Ramps Along Aripal Nallah, Seeks Public Support


Srinagar, July 16: The Flood Control Department has intensified its enforcement drive against illegal mining by dismantling unauthorized access ramps along Aripal Nallah to protect flood channels and critical flood protection infrastructure.
During the latest operation, illegal access ramps at Lagam, Nowdal, Chandrigam, and Dadsara were removed as part of the Department’s sustained efforts to curb unlawful mining activities.
The Department emphasized that tackling illegal mining requires collective action and cannot be achieved through departmental efforts alone. It appealed to residents of the affected villages and the general public to ensure that the dismantled ramps are not rebuilt.

People have also been urged to immediately report any individual or agency attempting to reconstruct or refill the unauthorized access ramps so that appropriate legal action can be taken.
Reiterating the importance of public cooperation, the Department said sustained vigilance and
infrastructure, and preserving these vital public assets in the larger public interest.
