Girl among 2 militant associates arrested in North Kashmir

Joint Forces claimed to have arrested two militant associates including a girl in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Police said that the arrested persons are affiliated with banned militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Police said that these arrests were made in Pattan area by police, army and SSB personnel jointly. They identified them as Farooq Ahmad Parra, a resident of Par Mohalla Pattan and Saima Bashir Mir of Chinkipora Sopore. They have been lodged at police station Sopore.

Police claimed that on their disclosure, arms & ammunition including a Pistol, 2 Pistol Magazines, 5 Pistol rounds, and IED weighing 2 kilograms along with remote control & other incriminating materials have been recovered.

During preliminary questioning, the duo revealed that they were working as militant associates with active LeT militant Abid Qayoom Lone of Wussan Pattan. [KNT]
