Yatri Dies of Suspected Cardiac Arrest Near Chandanwari Exit Gate

 

Pahalgam, July 15, KNT: A pilgrim participating in the ongoing Amarnath Yatra died after collapsing near the upper side of the exit gate at Chandanwari on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Masurkath, 46, son of Shankar Masurkath, a resident of Maharashtra. According to officials, he fell unconscious close to the police post in the area. Army personnel stationed nearby promptly responded and evacuated him to the Base Hospital at Chandanwari for urgent medical attention.

However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead. Preliminary medical reports indicate that he may have suffered a cardiac arrest.

Authorities have initiated all necessary legal and medical formalities. [KNT]
