Uproar in J&K Assembly After BJP MLA’s Remarks on ‘Hindu Population’ and ‘Rashtriya Waadi Log’

NC Members Protest, Speaker Intervenes to Restore Order

Srinagar, Oct 29, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly witnessed uproarious scenes on Wednesday after BJP MLA Shagun Parihar made controversial remarks while raising issues related to her constituency, referring to certain areas as having a “Hindu population” and describing locals as “Rashtriya Waadi log.”

The remarks immediately drew strong objections from National Conference (NC) legislators, who accused the BJP member of making communal references during an official debate. Several NC MLAs rose from their seats, shouting slogans and demanding that the remarks be expunged from the Assembly record.
