Pahalgam hotel accused of concealing stay of Thai nationals, Owner booked

Anantnag, Dec 4, KNT: Police have registered a case against a hotel in the Pahalgam area for allegedly violating provisions of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025 after it was found to have accommodated foreign nationals without mandatory reporting.
Officials said a police team from Police Station Pahalgam carried out routine inspections of hotels and guest accommodation facilities in the Rafting Point area as part of ongoing checks to ensure compliance with legal and security protocols.
During the inspection, Hotel Golden Heritage, located at Rafting Point in Yenner, was found to have lodged two foreign nationals from Thailand. Police said that the hotel management deliberately concealed their stay and failed to upload Form C online, which is legally required for registration and reporting of foreign guests.

Police said the failure to submit Form C amounted to a direct violation of statutory obligations and raised concerns related to safety and monitoring of foreign visitors.
Following the inspection, a case bearing FIR number 79/2025 under Sections 8 and 23(b) of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025 was registered against the hotel management at Police Station Pahalgam. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway to ascertain the circumstances under which the violation occurred.
Police reiterated that all hotels, guest houses and accommodation providers are legally bound to follow reporting procedures for foreign nationals and warned that strict action will be taken against any establishment found breaching the law.
Officials also urged hotel owners to ensure adherence to prescribed norms to avoid legal action and to cooperate with enforcement agencies in maintaining law and security standards. [KNT]
