Srinagar, Feb 12, KNT: Two soldiers, including an officer, lost their lives in a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast at Keri Bhattal in Khour Sector of Akhnoor, Jammu.
The explosion occurred during a routine fence patrol in the Laleali area of the Akhnoor Sector, resulting in the fatal casualties.
According to army officials, the blast took place while the troops were engaged in patrolling the area along the Line of Control (LoC). The sudden detonation led to instant fatalities.
Confirming the incident, an army spokesperson stated that troops are actively dominating the area and that a thorough search operation is currently underway to assess the situation and rule out any further threats.
“The security forces are on high alert, and additional reinforcements have been deployed to the region. Search and combing operations are being carried out to ensure the safety and security of the area,” the official said. [KNT]
