Srinagar, Aug 25, KNT: Senior People’s Democratic Party leader and former MLC Yasir Reshi has voiced strong concern over the recent alleged paper leak in the Junior Engineer examination, warning that such malpractices pose a grave threat to the future of educated youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to reporters, Reshi said it was deeply worrying that examination papers continued to be exposed, leaked and circulated in the market. He alleged that ever since the National Conference returned to power, the old corrupt practices had re-emerged within a year. “Even now, service selection papers are being sold in the market, leading to growing mistrust in the education system and in efforts to root out corruption,” Reshi remarked.
He lamented that despite students working hard to pursue education, their careers were being compromised due to irregularities in Service Selection Board examinations. “Cases are registered, sometimes in one police station and sometimes in another, but no strict action is taken against the culprits,” he said.
Reshi appealed to top investigative agencies to step in, trace the source of the leaks and take stern measures to end the malpractice once and for all. He stressed that accountability was essential to protect the aspirations of thousands of youth in Jammu and Kashmir. [KNT]
