Complete eradication of militancy from the soil of Jammu Kashmir is our top priority: LG Sinha

Udhampur, June 16, KNT: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today presided over the Passing‑out Parade of the 17th Batch of Probationer Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySSP) and 26th Batch of Probationer Sub‑Inspectors (PSI) at the State Police Academy in Udhampur. A total of 49 DySSPs and 1,112 PSIs completed their rigorous training.
In his address, the LG congratulated the new officers, urging them to embody the ancient values of truth, justice, morality, law, and good governance. He drew parallels between the recruits’ training and the invincible power of the divine trinity, Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, underscoring their duty to protect society.
Paying homage to J&K Police personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice, Sinha said, “The nation admires our force for professional competence and decisive action against militancy.” He insisted on a multi‑pronged counter‑terror approach, balancing high‑tech intelligence (TechInt) with human intelligence (HumInt), and re‑centering beat policing in the security apparatus.
Highlighting the role of Artificial Intelligence and community engagement, the LG called for intelligence‑driven anti‑terror operations and joint efforts with the Indian Army and CAPF to dismantle terrorist support networks and OGWs.
Recruits received training in new criminal laws, cybercrime, narcotics‑terror nexus, fieldcraft, counter‑insurgency, human rights, and law and order. Those who excelled were felicitated at the ceremony, where an oath of dedication and honesty was administered.
Senior officials present included DGP Nalin Prabhat, Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai, and members of the legislative assembly and civil society, who lauded the disciplined march‑past and the academy’s high standards of training. [KNT]
