Police announce Rs 10,000 reward for Sopore NDPS case accused

Sopore, May 5 : Police in Sopore district on Tuesday announced a cash reward of Rs 10,000 for information leading to the arrest of a wanted accused evading arrest in a narcotics case.

An official hue and cry notice issued by the Station House Officer of Police Station Sopore identified the absconder as Mohammad Ashraf Mir alias Ashu, son of Farooq Ahmad Mir.

The 32-year-old is a domicile of Jamia Qadeem, presently residing at Krankshivan Colony in Sopore, police said.

He is wanted in connection with FIR No. 23/2026 registered under Sections 8, 22 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Sopore.

According to the notice, the accused is of fair complexion with a strong body build, stands 5 feet and 6 inches tall, has black hair, and speaks Urdu and Kashmiri.

Police said action under Sections 84 and 85 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) is being initiated against him.

Any person providing credible information leading to his arrest will be rewarded with Rs 10,000, the notice added.
